Teaching in the seventies

Traveling in the seventies

The words "creative" and "technical" are seldom used together. And seldom are they used to describe any singular thing or person, but in the case of Gary Smith, this is an exception. As a general rule, when one excels in the creative arts, he can't possibly achieve excellence in science or technology. Gary has spent his entire life proving this statement wrong. Gary exhibits an analytical yet practical approach to a task or undertaking, while staying focused and centered on follow through and the project's completion.

Raised in a family of school teachers and college professors, Gary's childhood and school years were filled with music lessons, talent shows, recitals, electronics classes and science fairs.

At age 13, Gary began a career in professional music that has lasted for almost four decades with travels in almost every state in the U.S., every province in Canada and several trips abroad. One of his early musical highlights includes being signed with a group in 1965 to Atlantic Records and landing a Vox amplifier endorsement. Gary began teaching privately at age 16 and taught in junior colleges in the mid seventies.

Gary's musical side is shared with his knowledge of electronics and audio.

He has a unique and natural understanding of acoustics and audio and has built a totally independent, yet complimentary career around his musical counterpart.

Details about Gary's own recording studio, Nottingham, can be found at the official web site:
